Vehicle Rent

Insurance & Damage Liability

• Insurance coverage is maintained strictly for safety and risk protection purposes and complies with Sri Lankan law.

• Insurance does not cover damages caused by the renter, their guests, or associated third parties.

• Any damage, breakage, loss, or misuse of the vehicle, equipment, accessories, or fittings during the rental period is the sole responsibility of the renter.

• All repair or replacement costs must be borne fully by the renter.

Loss of Income During Repairs

• If damages require repairs, the renter must compensate for the full cost of repairs.

• The renter is also liable for any loss of income incurred during the repair period.

• Estimated daily revenue loss will be charged for each day the vehicle remains unavailable due to damage.

Eligibility to Rent

• The renter must be at least 21 years of age at the time of booking.

• A valid driving licence for the relevant vehicle category is mandatory.

Driving Licence Requirements

Sri Lankan Citizens

• A valid Sri Lankan Driving Licence is required.

Foreign Nationals

• A valid foreign driving licence and

• An International Driving Permit (IDP) or a Temporary Sri Lankan Driving Permit issued by:

  • Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC), or

  • Department of Motor Traffic, Sri Lanka

• Driving without valid documents is illegal and will void insurance coverage.

Identification Requirements

• Sri Lankan renters must provide a National Identity Card (NIC) or Passport.

• Foreign renters must provide a Passport with a valid Sri Lankan entry visa.

• Identification documents may be retained for official records.

Booking & Payment

• Bookings are confirmed only after receipt of the required advance payment.

• Rental charges are calculated on a per-day basis, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• Late vehicle returns may result in additional charges.

Security Deposit

• A refundable security deposit is required before vehicle handover.

• Deposit amounts depend on the vehicle category.

• Deposits are refunded after vehicle return, subject to inspection.

• Any damages, losses, or violations will be deducted from the deposit if applicable.

Vehicle Usage Policy

• The vehicle must be used only for lawful purposes.

• Only the registered renter is permitted to drive the vehicle unless written approval is provided.

• The vehicle must not be:

  • Used for racing, towing, or off-road driving

  • Operated under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  • Sub-leased or transferred to third parties

Fuel Policy

• Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at the time of pickup.

• Fuel shortages will be charged accordingly.

Mileage Policy

• Mileage limits, if applicable, will be communicated at the time of booking.

• Excess mileage will be charged at the agreed rate.

Accidents & Breakdowns

• In the event of an accident, the renter must:

  • Inform the nearest police station immediately

  • Obtain a police report

  • Notify the rental company without delay

• Failure to follow this procedure may result in full liability for damages.

Traffic Violations & Fines

• The renter is fully responsible for all traffic violations, fines, and penalties incurred during the rental period.

Cancellations

• Cancellation policies will be communicated at the time of booking.

• Advance payments may be non-refundable depending on the cancellation timing.

Right to Refuse Service

• The company reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking without refund if:

  • False information is provided

  • Required documents are not produced

  • The renter is deemed unfit to drive

Jurisdiction

• All self-driven vehicle rentals are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.

• Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Sri Lankan courts.
